Corporate & Commercial Law + NCLT & IBC

We provide comprehensive legal support in Corporate and Commercial Law — serving businesses across industries with advisory, transactional, litigation, and compliance expertise born from 11 years of Fortune 500 corporate experience.

Our founding advocate's corporate career at Hewlett-Packard, IBM/Emptoris, Thomson Reuters, and TaskUs gives us unparalleled insight into how corporations think, contract, and resolve disputes. This commercial intelligence — rare in a litigation practice — translates into legal strategies that are not only legally sound but commercially intelligent.

We serve businesses of all sizes — from startups and MSMEs seeking incorporation and compliance guidance, to large enterprises requiring litigation support, regulatory navigation, and board-level advisory. Our corporate practice covers the full commercial lifecycle: entity formation, contract management, regulatory compliance, commercial disputes, and corporate restructuring.

We maintain a distinguished practice in matters before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), offering representation in company law disputes, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), oppression and mismanagement petitions, merger and amalgamation applications, and winding-up petitions.

High Court Matters & Constitutional Petitions

We specialize in complex High Court litigation and constitutional remedies — appearing regularly before the Karnataka High Court, with experience in the Supreme Court of India on significant matters like the Atul Subhash Habeas Corpus petition.

Superior court advocacy demands a different order of legal preparation than district court practice. Our High Court practice is characterized by meticulous research, precisely drafted petitions, and sharp oral arguments that anticipate and rebut judicial queries. We understand the temperament of the Karnataka High Court and calibrate our advocacy accordingly.

Our High Court practice encompasses the full range of constitutional and extraordinary remedies — writ petitions under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution, criminal revisions, bail petitions, anticipatory bail applications, and FIR quashing under Section 482 CrPC (now BNSS). In appropriate matters, we also approach the Supreme Court of India — as demonstrated by the Habeas Corpus petition in the Atul Subhash case, which resulted in Supreme Court notices being issued to police forces in three states.

Property & Real Estate Law

Our real estate practice combines deep knowledge of Karnataka's property laws with strategic litigation capabilities to protect and advance our clients' most valuable assets.

Property disputes in Karnataka — and particularly in Bengaluru — are among the most legally complex in India, involving layered land records, competing claims, BBMP regulations, RERA requirements, and the interplay of revenue laws, civil procedure, and criminal remedies. We navigate this complexity with precision, serving both individual homeowners and large real estate developers with equal dedication.

Our property practice covers the full spectrum of real estate legal work: from transactional due diligence and documentation through to contested litigation across civil courts, tribunals, and the High Court. We handle matters involving both agricultural and urban properties, residential and commercial real estate, and disputed as well as undisputed transactions.

For NRI and foreign clients, we offer comprehensive legal management of Indian property assets — including power of attorney drafting, title verification, property registration, tenancy management, and succession planning — without requiring clients to be physically present in India for every step.

Tribunal Advocacy & Service Law

We offer specialized representation before administrative, military, and specialized tribunals — forums that require distinct procedural knowledge and deep institutional understanding beyond ordinary civil or criminal practice.

Tribunal practice is a specialized discipline requiring advocates with both substantive legal expertise and an intimate familiarity with each forum's unique rules, culture, and expectations. Our team combines these capabilities to deliver effective advocacy across a range of specialized forums.

Advocate Vivek Raj M. has particular expertise in Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) matters and has represented Government Institutions before the Tribunal — an area that requires simultaneous fluency in administrative law, service rules, constitutional provisions, and the procedural intricacies of tribunal advocacy. He has also handled sensitive Wakf matters across Karnataka, a specialized area intersecting Muslim personal law, property rights, and charity law.

Our tribunal practice also covers Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) matters, including Court Martial proceedings, pension disputes, service termination challenges, and disability pension matters involving defence personnel — an area of considerable complexity that affects India's veterans and serving military members.

Criminal Defense & Bail

Our criminal defense practice is built on strategic preparation, deep procedural knowledge, and calm yet assertive courtroom advocacy — from the police station to the Supreme Court of India.

A criminal prosecution carries consequences far beyond the legal — it touches liberty, livelihood, reputation, and family. We approach every criminal matter with this understanding, crafting defense strategies that are legally rigorous, procedurally meticulous, and sensitive to the full human context of the case.

Advocate Vinay Kumar Singh's reputation in criminal advocacy has been established through nationally publicized high-profile matters — the Atul Subhash case, the DGP Om Prakash murder case, and several high-profile honey trap cases — where his calm, strategic, and assertive advocacy has been recognized by courts, clients, and media alike.

Our criminal practice begins at the investigation stage — advising clients on FIR registration, police interactions, and custodial rights — and continues through all stages of trial, appeal, and revision. We are equally experienced in defense advocacy (representing the accused) and prosecutorial support (representing victims and complainants).

With the transition from CrPC to the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and from IPC to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), we stay at the forefront of India's evolving criminal procedural landscape.

National Recognition: Amicus Prawo's criminal defense advocacy in the Atul Subhash matter was featured by 100+ national media outlets including TV9, NDTV, ABP News, Aaj Tak, Zee News, and Republic Bharat.

Family & Matrimonial Law

We approach family law matters with the sensitivity they demand — combining compassionate counsel with decisive legal action to protect our clients' rights and their children's welfare.

Family law matters are among the most emotionally and legally complex cases an advocate handles. The dissolution of a marriage, custody of a child, or enforcement of maintenance rights involves not just legal knowledge but careful human judgment, empathy, and the ability to find solutions that serve long-term well-being rather than just short-term legal victories.

Our family law practice covers the full spectrum of matrimonial and family disputes under all applicable personal laws — including the Hindu Marriage Act, Muslim Personal Law, Special Marriage Act, and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. We handle cases before Family Courts, Civil Courts, and the High Court with equal command.

For NRI clients and international cases, we have considerable experience managing divorce, custody, and maintenance matters where parties are located across different countries — navigating issues of international jurisdiction, service of foreign process, enforcement of foreign judgments, and Hague Convention obligations where applicable.

Consumer Protection & Labour Law

We champion the rights of consumers and workers — providing effective legal remedies across consumer forums, labour courts, and industrial tribunals in Karnataka.

Consumer protection law in India has been significantly strengthened by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, which expanded the definition of consumers, introduced product liability, and established an e-commerce regulatory framework. We help consumers navigate these enhanced protections — filing effective complaints and pursuing meaningful remedies for defective products, deficient services, and unfair trade practices.

Our consumer practice covers the full forum hierarchy — from District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission through State and National Commissions — with particular expertise in medical negligence matters, banking and insurance disputes, real estate consumer claims, and e-commerce failures.

Our labour law practice reflects a thorough understanding of India's complex multi-statute framework — covering both individual employment disputes (wrongful termination, non-payment of wages, workplace harassment) and collective labour matters (trade union issues, industrial disputes, retrenchment). We advise both employers seeking compliance guidance and employees seeking to enforce their statutory rights.

Legal Documentation & Compliance

Precision in documentation is the foundation of legal certainty. Our drafting practice leverages 11+ years of corporate contract management expertise to ensure every document is accurate, enforceable, and built to protect your interests.

Most legal disputes could have been prevented by better-drafted documentation at the outset. This is a lesson learned from years of corporate contract management — and it informs our documentation practice. We draft documents that are not merely legally compliant but strategically crafted to anticipate disputes, allocate risk appropriately, and protect our clients' interests across every foreseeable scenario.

Our documentation practice serves both individuals (wills, POAs, property agreements) and businesses (commercial contracts, compliance frameworks, regulatory filings). We also provide legal audit services — reviewing existing contracts and compliance frameworks to identify weaknesses and exposure before they become disputes.

For international transactions, we draft bilingual agreements and provide cross-border contract advisory — ensuring that agreements governing India-related transactions comply with both Indian law and the applicable foreign law principles.

Our multilingual capabilities, global corporate experience, and specialized knowledge of international trade and investment law position us uniquely to serve foreign nationals, NRIs, embassies, and multinational corporations doing business in India.
